LANDLORD/OWNER INFORMATION

 

IF ALREADY RECEIVING A HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENT (HAP) CHECK:

  • TO CHANGE THE ADDRESS ON YOUR CHECK

    1. In writing, place the name as it appears on the HAP check
    2. Include the tenant's name & unit address
    3. Include your old AND new addresses & telephone number
    4. SIGN & DATE LETTER, PLEASE!
    5. MAIL to:

    6. Changes must be received by the 23rd of the month in order to institute
        changes for the next month's check
    7. Checks without address changes WILL NOT be forwarded by the Post Office

  • CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP

    On the sale of properties, please MAIL or FAX the following information, completed, signed, dated with a contact telephone number, and a Management Agreement if using an agent to manage property:

    1. Copy of Bill of Sale (HUD 1) &
    2. W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number & Certification)
     

  • TO FOLLOW UP A MISSING CHECK

    Montgomery County Housing Authority policy is to allow the U.S. Postal Service 10 days to deliver the check to the address listed on your account.

    1. Call the Housing Choice Voucher Department to verify if the check was
        sent & that the account is active.
    2. Checks lost in the mail must be cancelled and re-issued and you may be
        charged a $25 reprocessing fee to stop payment.
    3. For lost checks contact:

  • INCORRECT CHECK AMOUNT
    Contact:
       - Document Control Coordinator, Karin, at 610-275-5720, EXT 314 for clarification of the current check.
     

  • PLACING AVAILABLE UNITS ON RENTAL LIST

    1. To list available units for rental contact:
        - Toni Richardson at 610-275-5720, EXT 303
    2. Please have available:
        -number of bedrooms
        -date unit will be available
        -unit address (including town)
        -owner name
        -owner's telephone number
    3. Units will remain on the list for two months.
    4. Please notify MCHA at above extension when unit is rented so it can be
        removed from the rental list.
