HOUSING ASSISTANCE IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT
IF YOU ABUSE THE PRIVILEGE, YOU MAY LOSE YOUR ASSISTANCE

Give MCHA true
information about your family and your income

Cooperate, by providing
requested information, during your annual reexaminations with MCHA
-
Notify MCHA, in writing,
if you or anyone in your family has a change in income
-
Live in the unit. You may
NOT sublet it to someone else
-
Notify MCHA, in writing, if:
-you are away from home for more than 30 days
-you move out or end your lease
-you receive an eviction notice
-
Allow MCHA inspectors to
inspect the unit annually, and at other times, with prior notice
-
Notify MCHA, in writing, if:
-any member of your family moves out
-if you add any children to your family by birth, adoption, foster
care, or legal
custody
-
Receive prior authorization from MCHA and your
landlord before anyone not already on the voucher may move in
-
Pay your portion of the
rent and utilities on time
-
Abide by your lease. You
and your family MUST NOT get involved with crime, drugs, or violence
-
Take care of the unit. Do
not allow anyone in your family or guests to damage it
-
Follow ALL
Obligations of the Family as listed on the U.S. Department of
Housing & Urban Development Voucher of the Housing Choice Voucher
Program that is signed when you receive your voucher
